pamDMS

pamDMS (Perl, Apache, Mysql DMS) is a http server driven Document Management System.

The central structure is a hierarchical treeview in explorer style that is dynamically generated from database content. Documents respectively allowed files are located outside the DB, they are placed beyond a special directory in a directory structure analogue to the hierarchy (file system constraints supported).
Clients can upload, update, delete entries in the hierarchy. Inheritance and group/user philosophies support fast definitions of notifications (Email) and access rights (ACL-based) to each entry.
Restrictive access to the files is guaranted by access-, authentication- and authorization modules for apache (mod_perl). In Samba environments authentication can be made automatically without logins.
